    Can we do something about this drop rate? I'm getting like 0 after 30mins at Gobies. I think it was nerfed too much ;-;

    The droprates aren't supposed to be high. A lot of these items should be dropping rarely. I would be interested to see what others are finding as I think so far, the rates are now better than what they started as in terms of its effect on the economy.

    Tickets don't drop there anymore. I still find envelopes there (from gobi's), just still not very often. At least not often enough for the event to be worth my time. Last year, every minute of this event was worth everyone's time. But now, I could farm for a whole day and get absolutely nothing. I even tested 100 envelopes just to see what would happen (this would probably take me 2-3 days to find) and the results weren't nearly as mind-boggling as least year, despite the fact that you can find 15k nx.

    Again, you seem to be focused on farming envelopes and turning them in for large profits. That is NOT the intent of this at all and why the drop rates and chances were reduced. These envelopes aren't meant to be farmed, but little trinkets found in addition to drops you normally encounter when playing the game. With that type of mindset, of course you are going to be disappointed, because you are expecting something other than what the event is intended to be.

    The only mobs that will not drop event items are Leprechauns as stated in the last Server Check announcement.

    Then why did the event start with such high drop rates? I can imagine that everyone who was grinding when the event started got the mindset of farming them, at least i did. That's also why people are expecting more envelopes now. Is the only way to find the sweet spot for a drop rate to try it on live server? just wondering ;)

    Because we have no idea what is too common or too rare. Almost every drop event we have had during the life of this server, the drop rate had to be tweaked after being released. If we did not tweak the drop rates, I can almost guarantee we would see an uptick in AP Resets being sold, many more Gach runs happening, and lots of NX introduced to the economy when we've already concluded we need more NX sinks, not more ways to gain NX.

    Additionally, the drop rates need to change with respect to the server's population. If there's only 100 active players like there was when the server first started, the drop rate can be much higher. If, however, you have nearly 1000+ people online every day (as we tend to do now more often than not), you can't have the drop rates as high.

    What other way would you recommend figuring out the drop rate besides trying it on the live server? You cannot just spawn 100 mobs and see how many drop an envelope. You also have to consider how many people are killing all of the mobs and how often those mobs drop the item. It is easy for us to simulate mobs being killed by a handful of players. It is literally impossible to do it for a thousand concurrent players for the sake of figuring out adequate drop rates.

    Thanks for making things clear, I would suggest increasing the length of the server check to determine a drop rate for an event item. As you said earlier, these items should be dropping rarely, and aren't meant to be farmed. If you extend the SC (to an hour or two for example) you could check a few maps how much envelopes actually drop. It does not have to be perfect when the server goes online of course, but if you would have done that you would have found that the envelopes weren't dropping as rarely as intended. Next to that i think starting with a low drop rate and increasing the drop rate when necessary is better than decreasing a too high drop rate.

    I can imagine that longer server checks for these purposes aren't very popular but maybe it's necessary.

    The length of a server check would accomplish absolutely nothing. We already have a separate server that is used for test purposes. Everything we change in a SC is usually checked on the test server by staff first.

    And again, it's not that the envelopes did not drop as rarely as we intended. We simply did not realize people would be farming leprechauns with their mules and racking up dozens of envelopes per hour and with a high chance of 15k NX, they could accomplish several weeks' worth of NX usually gotten from voting within hours.

    I wouldn't say that. It's just that my time is too valuable. I could give up time like last year, but this year's event is just too dim to be wasting my time here.

    Then why not do something valuable if that's the case instead of ranting here, after all that John has explained?

    There will always be a group of players who try to exploit new contents. The results is clearly affect other players and the game economy. I do agree that MapleRoyal Events are very time consuming and lacking security.
