Hello MapleRoyals i noticed that there isn't a guide to zerking the "impossible" bosses or any zerk guide at all really... so i've decided to make a guide (kinda, was on my to-do list for awhile now)! so, welcome to my guide on how to zerk the impossible bosses of MapleRoyals! (this thread is meant to serve as a reference point or something that players can learn from, there are absolutely other ways to zerk these bosses, these are just my methods) (the damage values listed below are rough estimates after factoring in drk's achilles) Content Bodyguard A Bodyguard B The Boss Anego Auf Haven Royal Guard Von Leon Castellan Toad Hardcore Mode BODYGUARD A @spring2941 @Doo thank you for carry and helping me with this Difficulty - ★★★★★ - 13k+ touch damage | 1 dmg + stun punch | 20k damage kick Potion set-up 45% autopot with barbarian potions Manual pot : ginseng pots How i zerk this boss : Basically, what i do is, i manual pot with ginseng RIGHT before getting hit, so the only moments where i zerk this boss is during the period when im in iframe. When i manual pot with ginseng before i tank his 13k touch damage, it would bring me up to 20k+ hp which would allow me to tank his kick and touch damage, and after tanking his touch damage, it would bring me back down to zerk range. In between the phase of waiting for my iframe to end, there's a good 1 ~ 2 seconds before i take damage again, and this is the period that i zerk mostly. There are other methods to zerking this, like using unagis for manual pot and ginseng for auto pot, and relying on tanking touch damage, but this imo isn't as reliable as the chances of getting one shot by kick damage (20k dmg) is still there. The reason for barbarian potions on auto pot, is so whenever you get hit by BGA's touch damage, if you timed your manual pot right, the auto pot would bring you back to above 13.5k hp and below 15k hp, which is ideal because it most likely gives you another cushion to tank one more touch damage if you mistimed your manual potting and it is within zerk range. (well if you get super unlucky and get a high dmg roll while being on the low ranges of 13.5k~15k hp, you'd still die!). If you do get hit before you managed to manual pot and survive, you would be very low HP, and you'd see your barbarian pots being auto potted to bring your hp above 13.5k hp, do NOT rely on this, there's not enough time, manual pot ginseng instead if this happens. Video demonstration Spoiler: BGA / BGB / THE BOSS Body guard B Difficulty - ★ - touch damage 10k~ Potion set-up 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot : unagi - Not much to say about bodyguard B as it's easy to zerk. Does 8~9k range damage and 10~11k touch damage. You shouldn't get touched at all The Boss Difficulty - ★ - touch damage 16k~ Potion set-up 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot : unagi - Not much to say about The Boss as well, easy to zerk. Spams 1-1 and skill locks. Keep your distance from it though as if you touch it while in zerk range, you'd die! Use maple pop as it has high avoid. Lady Boss "Anego" Difficulty - ★★★★ - shotgun damage that does 4k | Slaps for 15k | touch damage is 10k Potion set-up 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot with reindeer milk How i zerk this boss : - The trick to zerking anego, is to manual pot based off sound cues. There's two distinct sound that anego makes, one is a shotgun ( you don't have to worry about these as your auto pot will just heal you ) and one is the deadly slap. Whenever you hear the slap, you press your manual pot. Don't even think about anything else, just press it. The reason being, because you are using 35% auto pot with cheese, the minimum hp you will be at is 10.5k, so no matter what, after you press your milk, you'd have enough hp to tank the slap. Also, try not to tank the touch damage as it would most likely ruin your momentum and concentration by messing up your potting patterns. Video demonstration Spoiler: Lady boss zerk Auf Haven Difficulty - ★★★ -Touch dmg for 12~13k | range magic attacks 7~8k Potion set-up 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot : unagi and cheese -Not much to say about Auf Haven, there's no trick, just focus on your hp and manual pot as well as you can to 14k and maintain it. Use hero's will to get out of sed if you get hit by auf haven's magic attack at the start of sed. If you get zombified, potions work at 50% efficiency, so manual pot with cheese instead of unagis to get back to 14k hp, overpot if you have to. Video demonstration Spoiler: Auf haven Royal Guard Difficulty - ★ - touch dmg ~14+k | range magic attacks 6k Potion set-up 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot : unagi - It's all about positioning. When you are doin this boss, you should try to position yourself as far away as possible, but still able to land hits on it. This is because royal guard has a skill that surges him forward, but when you are in that position (the one described above), royal guard will simply "phase" past you, so you won't take any touch damage. Maintain 14k hp and bring maple pops. Yeah, that's about it. Video demonstration Spoiler: Royal Guard Von Leon @Donn1e @autismax @Barte Ty for letting me join finland runs and carrying me Difficulty - ★★ - no touch damage | lightning does 8~9k | claw does 13~k dmg + adds slow debuff | double swipe does 13~k dmg + adds poison 2k dmg/s debuff | bird and laser does 1-1 - summons (gargoyles) does 8k ranged damage and 2~3k touch damage Potion set-up 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot : unagi + cheese How i zerk this boss : For this boss, the challenging part would be dealing with the summons VL spawns while zerking and not dying to VL attacks. So with this pot set-up, you'd be at 10,5k hp minimum. -When there are no summons, make sure to manual pot unagi your way back to 14k hp to avoid dying to any of VL attacks. -When there are summons, you can zerk them as you would normally, but keep an eye out for VL attacks because if you are below 14k hp, VL can one-shot you. The best way to overcome this, is to manual pot a cheese right before VL lands an attack on you. This would ensure safety no matter what, as you'd either be above 14k hp or in iframe if a mob has just hit you, thus nullifying VL's attack. -Do not dragon roar carelessly to get back into zerk range, instead, wait for rocks, get into a safe spot and roar. Also, you can use sacrifice. Video demonstration Spoiler: von leon Castellan Toad B1 Difficulty - ★★ - does 9~10k magic dmg Potion set-up A 10% autopot with ginseng Manual pot : cheese - For potion set-up A, basically if you see that your autopot did not proc, you manual pot cheese 2x til you get above 10k hp. The pros to set-up A is that you don't need to change autopot settings for B2. Difficulty - ★ Potion set-up B 35% autopot with cheese Manual pot : none - For potion set-up B, you do not need to manual pot at all. However, the cons of potion set-up B is you'd have to change your potion set-up for body 2. If you are doing this boss in a party, make sure to inform your party members to stop attacking once body 1 is dead so you'd have time to change your pot set-up. (B2 does not get activated unless it gets attacked) B2 Difficulty - ★★ - does 11~12+ magic dmg | summons little minions that does 1.5~2k dmg Potion set-up 10% autopot with ginseng Manual pot : cheese + unagi How i zerk this boss : For B2 toad, you'd want to keep your hp above 13k. Usually your auto-pot would kick in whenever you get hit by toad's magic attacks, allowing you to skip manual potting. However, sometimes auto-pot does not proc when your hp didn't go below 3k, so you'd have to manual pot. A good rule of thumb to follow is to just instinctively manual pot 2x cheese and 2x unagi whenever you see your hp not going back up. It is also ideal to anticipate when you'd need to manual pot, you can do this by paying attention to your hp pool. The higher your hp pool is, the more likely you'd need to manual pot after the next attack. For instance, if you see you have 14.7k hp, chances are you might need to manual pot for the next toad's attack as it might deal 11.5k, leaving you with 3.2k hp, hence why auto pot wouldn't proc. Be sure to keep track of your hp and maintain above 13k by using unagis when you are dealing with summons, as they might hit you and bring you below 13k hp without you knowing. Great guide! recommended. (Thanks, i was feeling guilty about not making this guide years ago... I guess i can now rest in peace) Btw, The best way to zerk in anego and RG is the one u recomended, but as an option on both: Anego: Use HTP+ sunblock and stay over 14.4k HP(with 1k and 500 HP pots) that way you can tank 1 slap(depends on your M. def stat, but u will most likely get less than 14.3k dmg) for those who arent good at aislate her skill sounds from your attack ones.(usefull for me when I didnt killed it solo, as NLs are loud asf) RG: Use HTP on it instead of a MoN. Lets u tank 1 touch if ure 14k hp+. Helpfull for me when i multiclient, specially when I duo atack, as avoid touch should be easy when ure single clienting, but a touch can caught u offguard if ure Multiclienting and not paying that much attention.
I actually wanted to try stacking mdef at the beginning but I got lazy Did you try your anego set up in solo situations? I might be wrong but I feel like it might get too overwhelming to control zerk with that setup if there isn't anyone to take aggro or pin anego. it sounds better for party play though because as you said, hard to hear sound cues when your not alone
Actually I did, is not that bad, since the only mechanical difference is 1 click b4 u get slapped(your suggestion) vs 2-3 clicks AFTER u get slapped. Still, since it is a bit more tricky, consume more resources(sunblock) and makes u slighty weaker(assuming the user have a perf or close to perf MoN) I would recommend your aproach as the best for solo situations. I think my set up would be better just for: 1.- party play 2.- For some reason you cant hear properly(broken headset, having a cold or w/e) 3.- For ppl that have a better eye-hand reaction rather than ear- hand one. As in my set up you react to what you see and not what you hear. Once more, gz on the amazing guide!
Just wondering how harder it is to solo. Like doing royal guard, you need to pin by your own and suffer the stuns. It should be 3-4 star
which boss are you referring to? If its anego, and if you're using the pot set-up i listed above, i'd say it's much easier to solo, because the way to effectively do that boss for my set up, is to react to the sounds, and in party settings, there's too much noise Hmmm, the difficulty star meter i listed is not rated based on the difficulty of the boss, but rated based on how difficult is it to zerk it, that's why von leon gets only 2 stars while auf haven gets 3 stars even though von leon is a harder boss than auf in general.
Talking specifically about RG, since its part of the auf expedition you kind of assume youre doing it with at the very least 1 more person, being a 3 -4 man the more comon set up. Being that the case RG becomes an easy boss... Maybe 2 starts would fit it better since it can stun and 1-2 hit u if ure off guard, but in most scenario it wont even touch u. No one talks about the dificulty of RG of Auf haven to be soloed as a Drk because, no one in their right mind will do that.
hey there, i'm not quite sure what you mean by that . Do you mean like a full dark knight leveling guide? There's one created already by plenty that even though its kinda outdated, it's still amazing work and i think it still covers most of the content for any aspiring dark knights!
