As a new corsair, can you explain why extra HP is a bad thing? I'm not sure whether or not I should stop washing (About 7k at 121).

    Thank you in advance.

Do not continue washing Derrick. Also you're a scrub and should have just asked me. The boat has a set amount of health before it goes on cooldown. That's why it never goes on cooldown on things like Bigfoot and Anego making corsairs extremely good at them. However, at bosses like Zak and Pap, the boat obviously takes damage and will go on cooldown.

To address your main point though, many bosses have a 1/1 attack. Even though you can dismount right before it hits and avoid the majority of 1/1s, you're either bound to mess up eventually or something like a stun will force you to get hit by it. If you have 30,000 health and you get hit by a 1/1, you lose 29,999 health on your ship compared to having 6k health and losing only 5,999 health on your ship.

I also was going to wash a bunch, but decided against it when I realized this fact. My corsair at 179 only has around 6.2k health. Once you get to 5.5k to tank anego gun, I don't really recommend washing anymore.

Yep and that's why I'm stuck with 6.7k MP on my corsair.

As for the main thread however, I agree that it's more of an accomplishment if you get there yourself. I was 119 on my bishop soloing himes to get to 120 and refused to spend money on leech. However, I would never force someone else to play in a certain manner. It's a person's choice whether they want to play in the nostalgic way of grinding out the levels or just spending all their money on leech.

40-50 mil per hour is EXPENSIVE. There is a drawback for leeching and it's money lost. If you do a 35 ticket gach which takes 4 days to build up to, you won't get enough money to pay for more than a few hours of leech. Not only counting that, but how could you buy any gear if you spend all your money on leech? Your money is going into a hole that won't help you again in any meaningful way to get a few extra % per hour.

The drawback of leech is the price to efficiency ratio. Is it really that much better getting 150% per hour at skeles for 45 mil compared to duoing himes with a priest for 80-100% per hour?

You're not gonna like my leech guide then. I'm proposing people to increase the rate to about 70m. :)

I don't mind at all for a rate increase. Even more reason to dissuade leeching as a PRIMARY means of training. I'm all for the opinion that it should be a secondary method of training to supplement your true grinding, but not as the only way you level up.

If you take a look at the sub-forum that should answer your question. In case you are having difficulty locating that I can make a "How to locate what sub you are browsing" guide.

Lol I wasn't implying any offense . Don't take it that way. I was only wondering whether you wanted to make a change or not.

    I apologize for my wording.

I think a good solution to this would be to raise the leech price sky high and make it less of an option to leech. Unless someone comes out with a guide to make money with the most efficient methods, I think this is a decent solution.

Only problem is that we don't exactly have a Bishop that can speak for all other Bishops.

We all play the game for fun. If what some people call fun is getting to the highest level as fast as they can then that's fine. I don't know how those players can feel much accomplishment though if they buy leech and sit there doing nothing while gaining levels. I find the game fun when I get a sense of accomplishment from my levelling because I know that I have put in effort to gain the level. It's just down to personal preference.

I agree, especially as we are in a private server, everyone should have the freedom to level how they please if they are having fun doing it. That being said, I still really feel like leeching can take away fun from certain types of players such as myself. I really don't feel like pumping an HS/gen mule to 130 just so I can level up my DK - I'd much rather find a fellow priest to train with normally, but the presence of leeching makes the very difficult.

By the looks of it, it seems as though you created this thread against leeching simply because you cannot find a priest to train with...?

Raising the price of leech would fix that.

As it stands, no priest has a reason to train "normally." As long as they have the overhead, their time is better spent buying a couple hours of leech, getting to bishop as fast as possible, and then selling leech. They'd end up with more money and a higher level than if they were to train.

And this is coming from someone who literally soloed to 160. Ulu wasn't out back then, otherwise I would have done this too.

How do you propose to "raise the price of leech". I see smegas all the time of people trying to sell leech, and very, very few of people buying it, and as such it's a buyers market due to the ridiculous number of bishops on this server. You raising just your prices is just likely to make others look elsewhere. Unless you mean a cartel like situation, where everyone has to be in on the deal for it to work, as soon as you have people undercutting you they'll get all the customers assuming they advertise enough.

Hopefully Bishops will step back and really consider what their time and effort is worth to them. Personally, I rate my hourly leech to make at least 150M or I won't be able to consider myself using my time wisely. I don't like being confined to my computer for a full complete hour of concentrating on getting the optimal spawn unless I really feel like I'm using my time wisely.

Also, I think demand has been going up recently. I'm always getting a few PMs asking for leech.

I hope this message will be portrayed to the older Bishops as well as the new Bishops in this server.

Uh, yeah, I get several people coming into my skele map asking if I'm selling. I'd guess buyers outnumber sellers.

If everything is inflating, I don't see why leech can't follow suit.

GM should add more new maps, monsters, quests to break up grinding. That's how I think, and people will stop relying on leeching.

Then people would start leeching there.

I suppose, I haven't been on for a couple of weeks so my info is a little out of date, but back when I played the leeching market was trending towards a drastic oversaturation of suppliers. My mistake, perhaps.

It seems to come and go in waves. Sometimes I'll see people smega several times buying leech with no answer, something I see the opposite. But the fact that prices have dropped the past couple month means that the market has shifted towards the buyers.
